Dr. Lisa Patel brings specialized expertise in sports medicine and musculoskeletal care to Pinnacle Family Medicine. She joined the practice in 2017 after completing her sports medicine fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Dr. Patel's practice focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. She treats patients of all ages and activity levels — from high school athletes to active retirees who want to stay on the golf course and hiking trails.
As the team physician for Scottsdale Unified School District, Dr. Patel oversees pre-participation physicals, sideline injury assessment, and concussion management for student athletes across multiple sports. Her concussion management protocol follows the latest Consensus Statement on Concussion in Sport guidelines.
Dr. Patel is a certified ImPACT consultant for baseline and post-injury neurocognitive testing. She also holds ultrasound-guided injection credentials, allowing her to perform diagnostic and therapeutic joint injections in the office without the need for a referral to orthopedic surgery in many cases.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Patel is often on the trails — she is an avid trail runner and completed the Javelina Jundred 100K ultramarathon in the McDowell Mountains.
