Dr. Michael Okafor, MD, ABIM

Dr. Michael Okafor joined Pinnacle Family Medicine in 2012, bringing deep expertise in internal medicine and chronic disease management. His approach centers on helping patients understand their conditions and take an active role in their care.

After completing his residency at Stanford Medicine, Dr. Okafor practiced at a large multispecialty group in the Bay Area before relocating to Arizona. He was drawn to Pinnacle's patient-centered model and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients managing complex conditions.

Dr. Okafor manages Pinnacle's Chronic Care Management (CCM) program, which provides structured, ongoing support for patients with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and thyroid disorders. He is a strong believer in team-based care and works closely with dietitians, diabetes educators, and specialists to ensure his patients receive comprehensive support.

He is known for his patience, his ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly, and his genuine concern for every patient's well-being. Outside the office, Dr. Okafor coaches youth soccer and is passionate about community health education, frequently speaking at local events about diabetes prevention and heart health.
